Students can get admission in the institution programs in two ways:
1. Direct entry into I Year

Admissions procedure is governed by Department of Technical Education, AP., following all the rules and regulations prescribed by Government of Andhra Pradesh. Admissions into Government Polytechnic, Addanki are based on the ranks obtained in POLYCET, a common entrance test conducted every year by DTE / SBTET-AP. The eligible qualification for appearing POLYCET is a pass in SSC or equivalent.

The seats left over (if any) are filled through Spot Admission duly following all the regulations prescribed by the Government of AP, at the institute level notified through a separate notification.

2. Lateral entry into II year (III Semester)
  1. Students who have completed relevant Intermediate Vocational Course (IVC) and have passed Bridge Course as per norms prescribed by SBTET-AP. Admissions are limited to 10% of sanctioned intake of Diploma course.

  2. Students who have completed relevant trade in ITI and have passed Bridge Course as per norms prescribed by SBTET-AP. Admissions are limited to 10% of sanctioned intake of Diploma course.
